Every alarm package comes with the main alarm panel with a printed circuit board, power supply, battery backup and internal siren. The system can then be scaled up to suit your requirements. We can add movement detectors (PIRs), door and window contacts (reeds), smoke and heat detection, glass breakage devices along with medical and duress controls.

Keypads

A keypad is used for operating the alarm.  You can choose to have a single keypad or multiple keypads at different entrances or exits to the home for added convenience.  Keypads come with push-button or touch screen operation.

Zones

When we design your alarm, we can divide your home into different zones.  Having multiple zones ensures different areas of the home like the bedrooms or a rumpus room can be independently disarmed when the alarm is armed. 

PIRs

PIRs are passive infra-red movement detectors.  These are placed in strategic locations to detect movement within defined areas (zones).  PIRs are placed in several locations to pinpoint where your security has been breached.

Pet Detection PIR’s

Pet detection PIRs are a special type of movement detector that allows pets to roam freely around the home even when the alarm is armed. 

Keyfob Controllers

We offer a range of remote operated key fobs which simultaneously disarm the alarm whilst opening the garage door.  Different key fobs have different functions including a personal duress alarm.

Reed Switches

Reed switches are used on external windows and doors for an added level of security.  Reed switches allow you to be alerted when a window or door has been opened. 

External Siren

An external siren is placed outside the home so you and the neighbours can hear when your alarm has been triggered.  External sirens and strobe lights act as a deterrent to thieves as they are a clear sign that the home is protected by an alarm.

External Strobe Light

An external strobe light is usually placed at the front of the home to act as a deterrent for thieves.  If the alarm is triggered the light will flash to silently alert anyone outside the home of a possible breach in security.

Smoke & Heat Detection

Smoke and heat protection is often overlooked when dealing with home security.  For added peace of mind, we can help protect your home from fire by integrating your smoke detectors with your alarm system.  This will immediately notify you when your smoke alarms are triggered if you are away from home.  

CCTV Integration

Should I choose local, self-monitored or Police approved monitoring?

Papworth Security always recommends using Police approved monitoring for optimum security.  For maximum protection, we also recommend integrating your smoke detectors into the alarm system.  This way in the event of a fire, personal duress, or security breach, the police, fire brigade or an ambulance can respond to your emergency 24/7.

What if I accidentally trigger the alarm and it is being externally monitored?

Our Adelaide based alarm monitoring service will always phone to check in on you before alerting the emergency services to ensure it is not a false alarm.  However, if they cannot contact you or your family, they will send the emergency services out to check your property just to be on the safe side.

What are self-monitoring and local alarm monitoring?

If you don’t want to go down the route of third-party monitoring, then we recommend self-monitoring.  This is where we send alarm alerts directly to you and your family’s mobile phones.  We can set up alerts for intruder alarms, fire alarms, power failure, low batteries etc.

Local monitoring is when an alarm is triggered an external siren sounds.  This alerts the people in your neighborhood that there may be a problem.  This often acts as a deterrent for intruders as nobody wants to increase their risk of being caught and alert the neighborhood to their actions.
